Today when I was browsing around B&N I picked up a copy of WatchTime magazine. They had a review/comparison on BREITLING vs OMEGA (the all black models). Eventually I came across the article "BREITLING MILESTONES". A short but good selection running through the firm's important models. From Vintage to the modern classic were included. I also found a model I never knew about called "Quadra"? Nevertheless, wonder if you would have chosen to add or delete a model? Look forward to seeing what you think.

Too bad about the incorrect dates

806 - 1954
765 - 1953 (the AVI model is from 1953, the ref 765 was used much earlier amd was aimed at the market as a pilots chronograp in the late 40ies)
2005 - pre 1965 (its in the 65 catalog)

Also, ive never heard of quadra , too bad it doesnt list a reference number

You ha e to forgive Watch Time for the dates - they would have been provided by Breitling (which of course also explains the inaccuracy).

With the wealth of information to get their history correct, they need to be reminded that we notice.

the Quadra name might be a recent creation, but the watches appeared - and disappeared- in the 1946 catalog, ref. nos. 754, 755, 756, 757.

René is correct re the dates, of course, but I'm far from surprised Breitling isn't getting it right.

A couple of other minor corrections:

1984 - Chronomat (ref' B13048) - In 1984 it was ref 81950. B13048 was introduced around 1990.
1995 - Emergency (ref' E76321) - The Emergency introduced in 1995 was E56021. The Superquartz cal 76 was introduced a few years later
1998 - B-1 (ref' A78362) - The B1 introduced in 1998 was A68062. The Superquartz cal 78 was introduced later.

1995 was the civilian Emergency, pretty sure that the 243MHz military issue was earlier.

The other milestone watch of the 1980's not listed, the Aerospace.

I like to know if "Quadra" ever appeared on those case or in add.

Read the magazine on the way home from New York, thought it was very well done.

I know I'm biased, as an owner, but in my opinion the Aerospace should have made the list. It is the obvious predecessor to the Emergency, and has been a staple of the brand for over 20 years now. Not only that, but I'd be willing to bet that it is the most popular Breitling watch for people that actually fly airplanes.
