That back cover is a creation, not original. Not to mention the crown appears wrong also.

strange not to see a serial number - but this is one of the smaller earlier ref. 1765 - knew they existed as I happen to have a NOS 41mm bezel for them, just need the watch ;)

another one was sold on WUS some months ago, same caseback; quite correct.

if you happen to see such a piece, ideally missing a bezel - be kind to let me know ;)

I would, for 1/3 rd of the asking price , but only if it had a serial number ;-)

Never seen an authentic 1765 back cover without a serial number and saying 1765 Unitime. Smaller? He says it's 41mm. I could be convinced if you show me a pic of another one.

finally got the pics of that SURPRISINGLY early Unitime 1765.

serial number dates it to very early 1963 (1st no. for that year, btw.) - caseback is different from the one shown above, but very different from the later ones.

bezel is 41mm in diameter - the proof we had been searching for a long time; all "known" ref. 1765 we saw before were based on the larger 1969 cases w/ a 42.5mm bezel.

does not explain the missing serial no. of the OP piece ;)

have owned around seven of these over the years. At present I have 41mm Unitime with exactly same case back-------------have seen a few of these with case back without serial number-also note "waterproof" rather than "water-resistant" same as 765 copilot case back..................Derek Dier(watchestobuy) had one such as this, also Christies sold one with box and papers a while back................I cannot explain lack of serial number but mine is all correct/movement/dial/hands/.....these were I believe never popular so cannot believe they were franken....why would anyone bother?...........................also note that this has(as mine) the correct minute counter arrow head hand as per the Breitling catalogue example(also same as copilot).......................who knows on this............The Heists informed me that the rather rough engraving to back of all Unitimes is correct...................no answers to this but a great watch................

I went for the Watchestobuy example but quickly noted the damage to outer dial----------------also the bezel edges to these get easily worn and are much more attractive with intact black edge..................as I said, do not know why the 41mm with "waterproof" engraving rather than "water resistant" on the serial numbered case backs has no serial number (when was the change to "water resistant"?).....................if this is the earlier version, would that explain this change?..........serial numbers should be 127xxxxx for 1969 I think.......................................
