Hello!

I'm Callum and I purchased a Superocean 2 back in November as an early Christmas present for myself

It's been excellent up until last month and I didn't have to set the time from when I purchased it (was about 15s out but that was fine).

Last month i noticed at work that it was a whole minute and a half out (fast). Anyway, thinking it was one of those things, I just reset it and left it. Every week since it has gain ones about 1m 10s! I am constantly setting the time...

Any ideas? Why all of a sudden is it doing this? I did wear it running for the first time last month - has that broken it? I've never worn it at night.

It's just frustrating considering it's so new...

It's gaining 10s per day so not too far out of normal. If you didn't wear it for an extended period then I would leave it for a couple more weeks to see if it settles, if not then take it to an AD with a watchmaker and get it regulated - simple and quick adjustment.

So you're saying it would be pretty normal to gain around a minute a week? Is that just the nature of auto watches? I knew they weren't as accurate as quartz but that seems a lot - also mine kept good time since November which is weird.

I've worn everyday since November so should be that.

It's COSC certified which means -4 to +6 seconds per day. If it's been a daily wearer and is now outside of that (which it is at close to +10) then a regulation should fix it, especially if it is consistent at +10. All that involves is a watchmaker adjusting the escapement in the movement to slow the watch down slightly.

In theory any watchmaker can do it, but by far the best advice is to take it to a Breitling AD with a watchmaker on site. The regulation will take just a couple of minutes, but a good watchmaker will ask you to monitor it for a week or so and if need be bring it back for further adjustment as there are a lot of different variables affecting the rate.
