I haven't seen enough of these fakes to confirm but I wouldn't be surprised if they have unique serial numbers but only the last 3 digits vary. (Similarly, the non-chrono quality fake of this model, ref. A17364, always seem to use the 1342xxx s/n range)

It looks like you guys are pretty certain that it is fake :(

Is it a waste to get it checked out ? Well i have to get it checked out so i can contact the seller. I know i can't get a refund, but i don't want it in my house and will let him know as i think he got scammed then.

And if it is fake, its time to find a new hobby after 10 years unfortunately :(

Sorry but it is possible that the 2nd seller (to you) knew there was something wrong hence the "catch & release" comment.
It is definitely worth getting it checked out and you can see it for yourself then. Did you check the bracelet screws like I said?

I wouldn't give up hope on collecting watches. Plenty of honest sellers out there with honest watches. Just never buy a watch because it is too good a deal to pass. And do plenty of research.
I have only bought used watches without papers when I am 100% certain that its real. I look for all the tells. I have never been stung so far. Knock on wood.

We see a lot of noobs on here who have bought a watch first without doing the research and then asking on forums like this. Then they get the disappointing news.

Yeah i guess i should go get it checked out.
The seller had good references etc and seemed honest. I would like to think he didn't know.

I have bought and sold about 10 Breitlings, and until now (maybe) never gotten burned.

If it turns out to be fake, it makes me sick to my stomach :/

Yep,

Regardless of whether he is innocent or not, you paid for something that you didn't get. He may need to go back to the person that he bought from, but that's his problem.
