Hi Guys,

I've just recently purchased this watch. A quick thank you to "WatchFred" for his help with this.

It should be with me in a week or so, I'm just waiting for something to sell from my current collection.

I took some pics. after putting a deposit on it.

Ref. No. 2105.3. Fred tells me it's one of Roy Geweniger OWJ stock pieces.

Is there a chance it sat next to Fred's in the watch box?

48mm, Cal.12, early seventies. Countdown sub dial at 3 and hour counter at 9, oversized pushers and a screw down crown at 9, 20 ATM.

I'm hoping Fred will add some more information.

I'm pretty excited about this one.

Have a great weekend.

well, can't really add too much, Donald - besides: congratulations !
beautiful piece, great condition; yes, it might have sat in that safe next to mine, untouched for more than 20 years.

Any other manufacturer would have issued a (nicely done & respectful) tribute to the 1969 SuperOcean Chrono-Matic with great fanfare, would have featured it as a core example of a proud heritage - it was clearly the first 20ATM Automatic Diving Chronograph in production, Zenith followed with their El Primero ref. A3822 in 1972 only; Breitling most probably forgot it existed ;)

wear it in health & pride !

Thanks buddman.

Thanks Fred.

I found this on the net, interesting, I've never seen No. 2 before. No. 3 being the one I just purchased.

Also, an interesting pic. of the mechanicals of the inner and outer bezel.

#2 is the "running seconds" ref. 2005; the last variation of that model, had a Yachting bezel as an option, there's one for sale here at a rather optimistic price; has a different definition of mint than I do.

What is the background of these watches that appear from time to time with the white price sticker on the reverse. Were they sold by O&W?

There's a write up somewhere, maybe Fred has the link, if not, I'll see if I can find it.

I mentioned before I bought a 7013 from OWJ and sold, not clever.

Ok, yes. I've read about them before but didn't know the connection to the price stickers. Thanks!

Fred has more ;) here are the ads from 2003 and 2004. might give you an indication how some of the prices have evolved.

I wish I had been more wise.

I bought my 7013 in 2009, not much more than listed in your ads.

I'm sure they would be a lot more now.

Love the Chrono-matic Superocean! I bought the last 7104 OWJ had a couple of years ago off Ebay. Probably should have kept that one.
