Seeing a few 806's on 'bay with the end of the chrono second hand missing. Are these damaged of replacement hands or were they made that away??

Assume some time in its life some one broke it while servicing or trying to clean / refurb the dials hands?

Most likely it was the victim of a drop or hard hit. If it was a watchmaker error they would have do e their best to fix it you can bet that.
