Agreed 100% with you Roff...this is an inbetween services battery change...5-7 years for sure it goes to Breitling.

Definitely stay away from the Chinese stuff on Ebay...I've had it, and it's junk. I got all my tools from Amazon.com, and they are nice quality stuff, but aren't terribly expensive. My tool kit was around $55, caseback tool was something around $30, but it was on sale, don't remember how much I paid for it, but less than $20.

Very interesting! I'm glad to see it's an easy operation. I might try changing mine when the time comes. Thanks for sharing!

Hi.

Im wondering how the inner case is released?

I have a airwolf and will change the battery by myself and will buy the tools for it. For the outercase i will need a "15 sided" special tool. But im wondering if the innercase is the same as yours?

The inner case cover is just a press fit to seal, and can just be picked up, or turn the watch over and it will fall from the case.

Great job! And good info by all. Mine is going off to BUSA when the battery dies because I want a complete refurbishing, but after that I am probably going to try it your way in between services. Just have to get all the tools.
Well done! :yeahthat

I haven't posted much here, more so on other forums. I have a question . How do you feel about getting your B-1 wet after opening the case to change the battery? Do you think the gasket might be compromised after years of use and then the "decompression" of the gasket after opening the caseback. Anyone have any first hand experience of swimming with one after a do it yourself battery change or do you just not get it wet any longer? Its your watch so do what you think is best but I wouldn't be comfortable getting it very wet without replacing the gaskets. Best to all, OB

I'm actually glad I know how it's put together now, and understand why it's only a 50M watch...which basically means don't ever get it wet. After seeing how it seals, I wouldn't wear it in the rain, let alone swimming... :D

Because the thread is 3 1/2 years old and the pictures have been moved from where they were being hosted by the OP.
