Hi All,

I am wondering if you can help me authenticate this watch.

I don't have pictures of the movement as I am not sure if it is okay to open the case back since the gaskets are one time use and I don't know what tool to use to open the case back to see the movement. Can the watch still be authenticated without seeing the movement?

I plan on bringing this for service. Does anyone know how much it would cost for a full overhaul on a chrono avenger? Also what concerns me is the blank international warranty. I see that Remont Corporation online is an actual jewelry place in texas, however, a salespersons name and signature does not exist nor purchase date.

Currently I am seeing a +5-6 seconds, been wearing it for 5 days since i got it. Should I service it?

Below are some pictures.

Thanks all for helping this newbie out! :lingsrock:

It's real, don't need to open the case back. Very nice by the way!

Thanks! Regarding the blank international warranty booklet, do you think this would be an issue with breitling if i decide to service it?

Nope doesn't matter. It would only matter for a warranty repair and this watch wouldn't be under the factory warranty any more. If you are paying for the service, you don't need the warranty booklet.

Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, how would you know that the watch is authentic without looking at the movement? Just wondering.

For starters, there are no good fake papers. Your papers are real and the serial numbers match those on the watch. Also, the fake usually has longer pushers which is one of the easier tells as there are actually some pretty good fake avengers. There are different version of the fake, some of which have a too short chrono second hand, others with bad pearls, others with sloppy lume markers. Yours doesn't show any of the signs and with matching authentic papers you are good.

Thank you for the quick response and the quick lesson! :)

One more question, is the crown suppose to pop out like this after the watch is winded? Again, sorry my first automatic watch.

It's a screw down crown so in your picture you have it in the winding position. After you are done winding, setting date, setting time etc., apply a little inward pressure and screw the crown back in. It should catch and the crown should be more flush.

I had pushed the crown in already and i turned it clockwise. According to the user manual, turn it gently until you feel resistance. I feel like i am turning a spring now but still it pops out a bit. Is this normal? again, i've been wearing it for a 4-5 days and its keeping good time. As of now it is -9 seconds. Should I be concerned?

As natesen says the crown is not screwed down. The crown needs to be pushed and held against the case and then turned clockwise (away from you if you are right handed) until you feel resistance. If the watch is -9 seconds in 5 days then it is fine, COSC specs are -4 to +6 seconds per day.
