New to the forum.

I have a 1966 Navatimer 806 that I have had for almost 40 years and sent off for service at LA Swiss in Vancouver, after 4 months and no feedback I finally received a call from Watch service repair in Toronto informing me that the Vancouver store had been shut and that they had received the estimate from Switzerland Breitling and the cost to do the overhaul is $2,200.

Sounds like a lot, any feedback on this and advice?

yes. get it back. now. I have no idea what they are suggesting to do, but that is WAY above reasonable.
standard advice: pm member chronodeco (he'll be slow to respond this week)

And Breitling Switzerland should never be allowed near vintage pieces.

Thanks for the quick response, that was where I was leaning, I will ask the repair service in Toronto for an estimate.

I wouldn't do that either. Contact member chronodeco and save a fortune while getting far superior results.
