Congrats on the beauty Fred, is stunning. Could you please explain the mechanics of the Duograph and the movement that goes in it for our knowledge?

well, "explaining the mechanics" of a true rattrapante (also called Split Chronograph or Doppel (double) Chronograph) goes a bit above my expertise, San.

It is one of the most complicated movements and the Venus 179 is one of the most beautiful of all. Rare and quite expensive when launched in the 1940s, produced (so the claims go) only until 1952,allows measuring two parallel events, a bit more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_chronograph

Some of the movements survived NOS and went into some rather nice relatively recent watches by GP, De Bethune, Panerai, UN, Parmigiani etc.

Thanks for the info Fred, you've bagged a stunning and rare watch. Also what's the difference between the 762 and 764 Duograph? Saw a 762 here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... ink:top:en
