I saw the first Breitling in Rue Rivoli, Paris, back in 1989 - when I was just purchasing my first Rolex, a Sub. The Breitling was a Chronomat (better say a handful choice of Chronomats). My first Breitling was bought in 2003, a CSO - so a watch with the characteristic rider tabs of the Chronomat. So it took not more than 14 years... :)
BTW my Sub has gone long ago...
Hope you enjoyed the story!
Regards: Robertus

I would say the Navi world. That is one sexy watch. A co-worker of mine had one and everytime he wore it, i would just sit and stare at it. It made him laugh because he said when noone was around he would do the same thing.

Well I first saw the Blackbird, but when I went to my AD to purchase I fell in love with the Avenger Seawolf.

Not silly, when I look at my airwolf to see what the time is I get so distracted at how awesome it is I forget to notice the time sometimes. Then I have to look again!

Interesting thread here, guys.

I'd been a £30 Swatch man all my adult life until I saw my cousin's Aerospace (blue dial/blue leather) about 6 years ago and it blew me away. It was a big jump to take but I got myself the black dial Aerospace with a little bequest my grandfather left me, and have been afflicted with the Breitling bug ever since.

The Emergency.......ended up buying an EM and then a B1.
I guess it's a Pro-thing.

The first time I saw a Breitling was on a market stall in Spain. It was fake of course, a fake Navitimer to be precise. I didn't know the brand or anything at all about automatic watches, but I just had to have this watch.

As a result of owning this fake I really got into the Breitling brand. A few years later when the hands fell off the subdials I bought the genuine article, the Montbrillant Datora to be exact. A small consolation for Breitling then that in some cases the fake watch industry is actually helping their sales!

I always loved chronographs, so Breitling is the ultimate brand for me.

Years ago, while I was back home (Spain) I saw a Breitling in "El corte ingles" (A very well known mall franchise). There were some other watches in the store, but the Breitling stood up from the others. I'd say that the Navitimer picked my attention the most.

I never thought I could afford it. It was totally out of my league, but still loved it.

Years later things evolved and here I am, proud and happy owner of a Navitimer World.

Things come along, most of the times, if you show enough persistence and tenacity

It was a Navitimer in a magazine.

Unfortunately I took a liking to the Professional line, when I saw an Emergency but couldn't afford one at the time and was also nervous about having an ELT lying around. I then saw the B-1 and the rest is history. ( which you'll find in the Gallery section  )

One day, though, I WILL own a Nav. (B. Fighters hopefully) :)

During my time in the USAF, a good friend of mine bought a SA. I was envious and knew that I had to have one. 3 years later, I finally bought one. I love it!

I went to a watch show at the AD here in austin. I have always loved watches but never had the money for the high end watches. I had bought a few citizen divers and thought they were great watches for the price.

I saw a super avenger with the white dial from about 20 feet away while I was at the omega case. I dropped my conversation with the omega rep and said I had to go see that big white monster. Hooked ever sense, finally purchased the SA in white this past saturday and I can't stop looking at it. Can't wait to purchase my next ling.

My son asked me to stop an AD and look at a Montbrillant Datora he was thinking of buying. While there I took my first real look at Breitling and fell for the CSO with white dial which I ended up purchasing about three months later.

The Chrono Avenger on the cover of "Watch Time", August 2001. That's the first Breitling I remember seeing. Although, I ended up by the Headwind first. I did eventually get the Chrono Avenger in 2004. That's what is on my wrist today. Yep, I still have the magazine.
