Hi Guys,

A good friend of mine has acquired a Chronomat Evo and was wondering why "SWISS MADE" is not written on the dial ?

Looking at Breitling.com official website even makes the dilemma more weird...looking at some versions of the same model (for example Superocean Heritage Chrono 46mm) shows SWISS MADE written on some of the versions and without on other versions with different dial color ?!

What's the deal with the SWISS MADE on the dials ?

See pictures of my friend's Evo

Thanks

I think the older variants of the CE didn't had the Swiss Made, but not sure when they changed the dial.

Very few Breitlings had it on the dial until recently. General consensus is that it was added because of the persistent (untrue) rumours that it wasn't on the dial because the watch didn't qualify as Swiss made under the strict Swiss regulations.

@bnewbie could you kindly share how you identified this please? I am acquiring an Evo this week.

Overall I am very interested to know why Swiss Made was not printed on the dials of a version of their flagship model and one of the iconic watches coming from Switzerland. Experts?

The Evo is one of the most faked models but there are tells which vary from version to version. Post pictures of the one that you are considering in the replica section and we'll let you know.

In terms of why Swiss Made wasn't on them, as noted above it was on very few models until recently, just a design decision.
