Exactly my thought, the dial is left looking very diminutive.

You grumblers :poke: I really like the new Steelfish! I'd like to see a night shot and to see it glow in the dark.

Thanks Terry. Interesting interview. Girardin certainly was clear the new bezel is how Breitling will go on the Chronomat, talking about extensive research on the bezel, making it more functional, as well as more "masculine" by going back to brushed. Also reinforcing the idea of rider tabs. I only listened to the first few minutes but the bezel is all he talked about. I suspect that puts to rest the idea of parallel Chronomats with different bezels. Sure they will still be producing the current model, but it seems just a matter of time. So, will the Chronomat Airborne become the only Chronomat, like the Chronomat Evolution? Or will there be a less sporty Chronomat to fill the Chronomat range? Time will tell. Will next year see a new bezel on the Galactics and if so what will they call them - the Masculactics? ;)

Edit - I have noticed a plethora of Basel offerings with sailcloth straps. It seems to be the new Swiss thing this year (yeah it's been on the FFs for years).

I definitely also heard (from interview) the new bezel is the one going forward, not sure how fast it will totally replace the previous one though. Could hazard a guess that the Airborne will primarily be the 2014 model and then maybe some other dial configurations starting next year ? (with regular lume).

The sailcloth straps do seem to be popular this year, even across other brands, must have got a new manufacturer in town :) . Still not a polished bracelet guy so will stick to leather and rubber for now.

I don't think it looks too bad. Breitling has always had a wide bezel look to me, probably because of the rider tabs and chimney all flowing together as Roff noted. Don't mind a wider bezel on a more dive/water watch but something other than the all steel look might help, the IWC AT 2000 comes to mind. Still would like to see more size specs. on this one.

I don't mind it either. I think it looks sporty and thus good.

Yeah, I haven't seen anything more on the Steelfish Chrono. Guessing they could be mockups just 'fishing' for any feedback with the option of not putting some or all features into final product.

Still like the Airborne whether rubber, DLC or something else in the bezel, no matter to me. I heard they would be shipping in 4-6 weeks, :) . Got mine on order  .

Awesome, which color did you go with? And did you get the military strap or the bracelet? The live shots look great!!

I'm committing to the black dial with military strap, but will probably wear it with rubber/deployant or leather/tang.

Nice work! Pics please when you receive it. Very interested in how it looks in the flesh so to speak

I don't mind the steelfish chrono, the bezel might be a touch wide but I don't think it's horrible.

I love this "new" model with the BEB color combo - would highly prefer applied hour markers of the "normal" CSO (either 42 mm or 44 mm style) tho. Maybe the Mk. II.

Yessss. Hope next year the BEB dial with the new/old bezel (=NOB) will follow, hopefully without the square on the dial. A day-date would also be nice.

I wonder if they are going to start using display backs on the Navi line like the transocean chronos. It looks like the standard Navi 46 and the Navi GMT have a display back and there is no mention of them being a LE.

Don't think day-date will happen anytime soon. If they implement the new/old bezel on future Chronomats, the dial definitely will not come with the centre square as the square was meant to compliment symmetrically with the bezel numerals on the previous Chronomat, so doesn't make sense to keep it if they revert back to the old rider tabs bezel.

I'm guessing this is the same lume used on the Chronomat Frecce Tricolori LE. I saw this watch a few weeks ago and really liked it. The lume in the daylight is a cream/vintage color and adds some contrast against silver sub-dials. Don't know what color it glows in the dark. I liked it and was close to purchasing the Frecce Tricolori but now that the new Airborne is out... :) . I think the color comes across a little richer than the pics on page 12 of this post show.
