Has anyone used any NATO straps on their watches. I know it is a big Rolex and Pam thing, but I came across a website that has them ridiculously cheap. Was looking to possibly purchase a few for a very different look. Problem is I am afraid they would look weird on my SA. Not to sure I would pair them with my 6.75 however. I think the extra length would bother me as well but I am really not sure. Has anyone had any experience with them on their Breitlings?

Lots of photos of pieces on NATO in the WWAYWT, vintage and gallery sections - try searching and you should find them.

My feeling is that the watch head of an SA would be too heavy for a NATO really, and that the watch might swim a bit on the wrist.

That was a concern of mine. But I found one I liked for $12.50 and free shipping. I ordered it, for that price wont hurt if it ends up being that way and I don't like it.

I really love the look of NATO straps, however what puts me off is the extra strap just kind of hangs out, even when tucked in it just doesn't look right to me. If I found one that wasn't super long I would probably get a few.

Thank you! If I like the one I just ordered I will be looking for a few more and will head here first. My strap will be here Friday, so I will post some pics at some point.

The benefit of fitting a one piece NATO is that if one spring bar lets go the watch won't fall off your wrist so a good safety option if you're diving or indulging in some other activity where your watch could disappear beyond reach!

Matt, I feel that the extra strap would drive me crazy too. but the website I ordered them from changed the way they are made and the positioning of the buckles apparently from their old strap. They say it should eliminate the extra portion of it by tucking it into itself so you really cant see it. But they are in the business of selling straps. So we will see.

I'll check it out when you get yours, and if it looks good I will probably end up picking up a few. Thanks!

Well it could drop into your coffee or even the shredder..................I've never had a spring bar let go but if one did whilst I was sailing I'd be doing a sight more than desk diving to get my watch back.

I am glad I have a NATO strap now!! I can't even imagine the feeling of what would happen if my watch feel off of me in a large body of water like that. Literally would probably freeze with dread and scorn for Mother Nature.

But maybe she likes a nice timepiece as well. Who are we to blame her.
