805 also should have 3 subdials and ref and serial on the back , not inside

It was a nice (non Breitling) watch :-(

a lot is wrong and I'm reluctant to point out all the errors; but the stamping attempts are worrying ....

Btw why do some sellers use Private bid histories? How would we know if there is shill bidding? Should not be allowed!

I thought that was an ebay 'feature' ? Its been awhile since ive been able to see who bids on what
Ebay replaces the full username with 3*****3 etc

Yep, doesn't matter if it is a private listing or not, it's an eBay privacy thing that has in been in place for a few years now.

Rene, Roff, I know about the r**r ones which is fair enough since you can see their purchase count though not the name in for r**r(100) and know if they could be genuine bidders, esp filter the zero count ones.

But some sellers use a completely private listing like for the watch above which looks like below that can be easily manipulated by shill bidders. I can't see it in the usual r**r(100) type format.

Private listings also serve to protect legitimate buyers who don't want people to look at their feedback counts and figure out who they are. Great feature!

Fair enough Roff, that's surely a benefit. I have always avoided sellers with such private protected listings for fear of being tempted to buy at inflated prices, my mind immediately thinks somethings fishy and also have shill bid concerns with the bids.

I use that as well when selling , to protect buyers privacy mainly and to give resellers a chance as well
the world is really small and if the buyer doesnt want to share his purchases with the world that is OK with me

re shill bidding , the Ebay algorithms are quite good and , with a few notorious exceptions that use a wide variety of proxy servers and IP adresses , most shill bidders are caught / warned

Fair enough Rene but I prefer this format when buying a high end and cost item, I esp look for those zero or low feedback bidders who could be not genuine rather than try figure out which id belongs to which buyer, but surely the system can still be rigged by the pros

Well I disagree here as well , I have a few accounts which I use to buy , not everyone needs to know its me buying , because even the username is hidden D****3 (505) people still know its me buying , so I have some more that have 2 or 3 FB

And it even worked wonders for me sometimes as it does scare away other potential buyers thinking its a shill bidder :-)

Easiest was to get me to stop bidding and lose interest is to have a zero feedback bidder involved (running up bids). I'm done at that point.
