Hello guys,

I just bought a Colt Chronograph II last week in a non-AD shop at international airport duty free in Malaysia. When at home i noticed the international warranty booklet saying that it requires these below info in the booklet:

1) store name, address & stamp of the AD & his/her signature
2) reference & registration no
3) indication perforated under Country & Retailer name

The booklet has all the item no 2 & 3 but not the item no 1. I still had the original receipt. I'm not sure how stringent is the Breitling with this details when i send the watch for any warranty-related matters but i need a comment from you guys about this matter. By the way i'll be back on the same airport next month so i'll get their remaining info on the booklet.

Generally speaking if you buy from a non AD (grey market) you get no warranty. In mos cases you wouldn't get the booklet at all, in this case it was left blank to protect the AD that supplied the watch to the grey seller. You probably won't have an issue, but Breitling would be perfectly within their rights to deny warranty coverage - especially as you can't provide a receipt proving that you bought from an AD.

I hope I may ask an additional question, about factory warranty;
I bought a NOS Breitling at a AD who is a Breitling dealer.
He filled in the waranty booklet and stated that I have 2 years factory warranty.
However the watch is more then 10 years old and I am wondering, if he can really offer factory warranty on it.
Normally you would say that because of the breakdown of the oils, it needs a service after so many years (which hasn't happen yet).

So, do I have international warranty on this watch, or not?

Warranty runs for 2 years (5 for in house) from date of first sale, so yes, you have a warranty. That said, AD should have had the watch serviced prior to sale, and you should certainly get it done under warranty.

Fortunately i double check again in the Breitling website and that shop is genuine AD. I already informed the AD again about this warranty issue & they apologize about it. I will drop by again at their shop & get it stamp properly.
