Hi,

After changing the battery today, I realized the minute & hour hands of the watch is not moving.

The digital display works fine. Just the hands are not moving. Does not move every minute. Does not move in adjustment mode.

There is also an occasional buzzing sound inside the watch. It's not persistent. Lasts for 2 to 5 seconds when it occurs. Seems like something is not right.

Has anyone experience this before?

Thanks

At a guess the keyless works is jammed and the noise is the attempt to move the hands before stopping when it doesn't hapen in x seconds to prevent damage.

That sounds right. I guess I should send it in for service. In the mean time I shall remove the battery.

Thanks Roffensian.

Went to the Singapore Breitling Service Centre today. They wanted SG$760-796 (USD$615-$644) for an overhaul (plus additional for parts if needed) to repair the above. Is that high?

I had replaced the circuit for USD$300 because water went in years back. This repair costs more than that?

It's very interesting. They didn't even look at my watch to give me the quote.

Unless there is an easy & cheap fix, I am going to let this watch rot away in my drawer. I don't think it's worth it.

That's a little high for a quartz service, I would ask for a breakdown of the quote.

Just wondering how you went and if you ended up resolving the issue with your watch.

I have same issue with my Aerospace, digital working, analog stuck.

You mentioned the electrics were changed for $300, did you replace this yourself?

I really love this watch, but don't want to fork out what they want in service fees for just a quartz watch.

If you don't have Breitling service it then it won't really be a Breitling anymore because no one else has access to Breitli g parts. For obsolete quartz that's OK because it's the only way to keep them alive but for more contemporary pieces that will destroy resale value.

I just had the module in mine replaced with a used one off ebay for $105 + $40 to have it installed by my watch guy. Easy and inexpensive fix.
