Is it worth it to send a quartz into Breitling for service to get the battery replaced? What is the cost of this? Also, I see they send you a prepaid box does this mean they insure the watch for a certain amount and do they charge you for the shipping? Thanks

Very difficult to answer questions about service without knowing where you are. A quartz service is not just a battery change, it includes a service of the movement (replacing the oil, checking and if necessary replacing gear wheels, etc). As a rough rule of thumb a service will be needed every 2nd battery change, but that depends on which model we are talking about.

Don't know about a prepaid shipping box, sounds like something unique to your location.

Ah was coming on here to ask the same question and saw this thread!

Im personalty in South UK, and alot of the jewelers and watch repairers are going under, due to financial climate...blah blah. But i also travel around, so i might be able to pass a location on my travels, if necessary.

So thought id also see my options from Breitling - 3rd parties and for and against, as Ive not needed too much work in the past. Also saw quite a few watch repair sites around now, also targeting Breitling watch repairs like this.
Would you only ever deal with the manufacturer or does it depend on repair or service?

Many threads on this. For a modern watch you have to use a Breitling authorised service centre if you want Breitling parts. The centres are listed on the Breitling website and if you are in the southern UK you aren't that car from BUK in Tunbridge Wells.
