hey people,

I`m very pleased that i will be collecting my new Navitimer World in a few days. I do not intend on wearing it everyday and therefore will require a winder. Having not owned an watch with auto movement i was aware of Winders but far from hot on the topic - and i`m still not, however thanks to some very useful posts on this forum i now know a little.
:o :o
I could not however find any suggestions as to which winder to buy, certainly not for the the impending Navitimer....

There seems to be a great deal of cheap winders and a likewise expensive ones....

can any one recommend a good quality reasonably priced winder suitable for the Navitmer?

All thoughts welcome.

Quite a few threads on winders here and consensus of them seems to be that Wolf are a good compromise between cheap and expensive. Of course you can also just use your hands

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

I have the Wolf single winder 2.5 and I couldn't be happier. It is very quiet and runs great with no fuss. It does rotate both clockwise and counter clockwise so for the Navi World you can choose which direction you would like it to turn. It does not have a setting where you can change how many turns it does per day but for the Navi World I believe this winder will be sufficient enough. The pros can chime in on this one, as I do not know how many turns per day a Navi World should get.

For a single watch, the Orbita Sparta Open 1 is a great choice (the "Bold" black version is the most economical). Works for any direction, and has settings that accommodate 650 tpd and 800 tpd. Very quiet and reliable.

I love Orbita myself, although I tend to go for the slightly more expensive Sparta Deluxe models as they're fully enclosed. Well worth it IMO.

I am mostly Orbita and haven't bought any other brand for a while, I just tend not to discuss much as they don't seem to be as popular here. Expensive for sure, but I have had enough with the cheaply made ones (including the ridiculously expensive cheap plastic that some of the supposedly better brands use).

Hmmm. Wasn't aware of that fact. I love Orbita winders -- my own preference are the Sparta Deluxe models. Beautiful cases, great performance (I prefer the Rotorwind versions). The Open winders provide a nice alternative -- same performance, but more economical and can also be used for travel.

I have one of these...

From a company called BensonTrade in the Netherlands. It's quiet and configurable. Actually made of wood not plastic, and I can store my Aerospace(s) in the drawer in the base. And it's not hugely expensive for a winder either.

I have a wolf 2.7 triple module roadster; my Navi World sits on one of the modules. It's fantastic and I highly recommend it. You can configure the direction and tpd of each module. I got it from Jomashop's flash sale last year. I also had an issue with the lock when I first bought it, but Wolf's customer service was impeccable and immediately rectified the issue. I suggest Wolf for the product and the service
