this is a professional seller - so you should NOT have a problem to get your money back - it's the law, in the UK and across all of Europe !

why settle for a watch like the Top Time 814 instead of the Pult you had been searching for ?

The ref. 2117 is CLEARLY misrepresented by the seller, he calls the watch "in excellent original condition l", nothing could be further from the truth, let me sum it up.

blue dial and a brown tachy insert & bezel - clearly mismatched, this combo was NEVER produced by Breitling.
date wheel wrong, taken from a Cal. 11/12 with a date display at 6
all hands wrong (well almost, the chrono second an the minute counter seem correct).

The movement pic isn't clear enough to tell whether it is a correctly marked Breitling version, I actually doubt it.

seller claims "Guaranteed to be 100% genuine" - well, it very, very clearly isn't, it's a typical parts bin Frankenwatch.

Here is a pic of a Breitling Cal. 12 in a Pult ref. 2117 for comparison if you can get better pics of that FrankenPult movement.

as Phil says, correct hands are available at reasonable prices, as are correct date wheels - but finding a correct brown Chrono-Matic dial will be quite tough, most of the dials are for V7740 versions - and no, they are NOT compatible.

Get your money back from that seller - and stay well clear of any other watches he has on offer, who knows what inconsistencies you'll find there, with watches "Guaranteed to be 100% genuine"

He has offered me a full refund or the exchange I suggested so I'm taking him at face value. I know you are advising to stay away from him but can you comment on the other watch as he has offered to met me at the Breitling to have it checked?

looks correct, though there's a strange inconsistency among the pics, on the frontal the lower red accent on the minute counter subdial looks extermely fade, on other pics it doesn't.
would NOT buy w/o a movement shot - hell, as I said; wouldn't buy from that guy at all, but your money, your choice.

OK point taken. I've asked for the refund looks like maybe I will be a Heuer owner instead as I was also considering a Heuer Calculator. The chap that runs the car club I'm a member of deals in them so I know/trust him

Pity because I liked the bullhead Breitling and still wouldn't mind a nice one or a top time

I know it's the wrong forum for this but

Bullheads and Top Times come up regularly, if that's what you want just wait a few weeks until the right one comes along. As you have already discovered people here will make sure that you don't end up with a bad'un.

I'm having trouble discern if you are being sarcastic or complementary? If the later no bows yet I don't have the money back in account. Watch sent back to the seller this morning.

Tom was merely showing his support for the guys who've worked hard to make sure you get a legit bullhead.

Hope you get the money refunded soon. Assume you put in a paypal claim?

Exactly so. A number of good guys taking time to share their expertise freely to help someone get the right outcome.

I got a full refund from the seller. He was quick and easy to deal with. I think he is a good guy as he didn't argue about it. He said he checked with his Breitling expert (I can only guess this is somebody at the uk service centre) and he believed the watch was good (I know that quite a few on here beg to differ) but he had no trouble about refunding so I can't say anything bad about him.

That is an expert who clearly knows nothing about vintage Breitlings. This wasn't a case of "Maybe it's genuine, maybe it's not". It was a horrible and obvious Franken. You'd only have to google "Pult" to see that Breitling never produced a blue/ brown pult with the date sideways!

Just see that, gents, it is back on ebay and the seller cannot argue that he is not aware about non conformities of his frankenPult . More, he tries to legitimate each of the non conformities . Really stupid because his other watches for sale look sound . For me conclusion is clear : despite his 100% feedback, he is not faithfull , avoid!
