I am travelling to St John in the near future and have heard of a store there by the name of 'little switzerland'? They seem reputable and seem to have many locations.....I am safe in buying a Breitling there? Should I talk to someone specific? etc etc etc

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

I visited St. Thomas last November and spent a lot of time in "Little
Switzerland." It's a wonderful little watch shop with a number of
fine brands, including Breitling, Zenith and Omega. The sales
rep who helped me, Irma Corsino, was very knowledgable, friendly
and sympathetic (My wife at the time wouldn't let me buy the watch I wanted,
a lovely Zenith marked down 40% . Oh well...) The store manager
herself was most helpful, and offered the best deal she could. I highly
recommend the shop.

However, there are rows of watch shops in St Thomas, if you can't
get satisfaction at "Little Switzerland." The island is a premium
watch Mecca! You're going to have loads of fun.

I can't wait! I'll be there in November on a cruise. See any good deals there on Pannys? Rollies?

I'm afraid my parting with my wife would require an entire book
length explanation. Let's just say we are both quite happy now
and looking forward to the future. :)

Virtually every major watch brand is available on St. Thomas. I
wasn't really interested in Panerais, so I didn't seek them out. Rolex
dealers are plentiful everywhere in the Caribbean. A few stores down
from "Little Switzerland" is the A.H. Riise Rolex Boutique. A great selection
of Rolexes, Pateks, JLCs, etc. How good a deal you can get
depends on how charming and persuasive you can be. Good luck. :D

Maybe I am naive but several people have told me that the dealers there do not deal on price, that the discount is on the price tag and thats all they can do?

Do they deal on Breit's? Or is my innocence scale on full? lol

At the time, I was really pursuing mostly IWCs and
Zeniths. I tried on a few Breitlings but didn't ask about
discounts, I'm afraid. I'm not being much help, I know, but I think
you will be better served by talking directly with the dealers once
you get there. :)

Have a great cruise.

Hello there,

You're a lucky person, headed for St. Thomas! In March, both Little Switzerland and AH Riise/Jewels were offering a standard discount from US mainland prices of 20%. Hope you find something you like! At the time, AH Riise had more selection but I'm sure that can vary.
