I was pondering this recently, and if I could trade all my pieces for one it would be an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Diver. Anyone else got a holy grail they would trade it all for?

I have thought about it more than once, but in the end I just like the variety too much. If you twisted my arm, I'd have it down to a Royal Oak, Rolex GMT of some variation, or maybe a VC Overseas. But then I still think I want a Fifty Fathoms sometime. I still want another shot at a Breguet, ah, nope won't work.

I like the 50 Fathoms as well, but if I had to choose between the two it would be the AP.

We all have grail watches - there have been threads on it before, but I can't see going from multiple watches to just one, regardless of the price point. Those of us with multiple watches started that journey to introduce variety into the mix - to separate sport from dress, casual from work, etc. No matter how fantastic the watch is, only having one watch gets away from that.

I don't have a grail watch Matt. Never did & probably never will. But I get what you are saying though.

However, I can't think of one singular watch hypothetical to suggest here, just for the sake of the discussion.

I don't think I would be satisfied with one & none come to mind as a singular replacement.

Good question though.

That exact same thought still haunts me everyday.
