Gday guys

Been an avid reader on here for the last few months and just recently have finally decided to pull the trigger. I've managed to pick up these three beauties in the last few weeks and they're all great. I wouldn't have done it without the invaluable resources on this site though, and for that I am very grateful.

For those that are interested, the most accurate out of the box, somewhat surprisingly and disappointingly was the SOH. It was and still runs at between +2 and +4 very consistently. Both the B4 movements were about 6 - 8 seconds fast out of the box. I've had the Chronomat regulated and it's now between -2 and +2.

I haven't had any problems with either of the chronographs as previously described by others and they both seem to be working fine.

Finally, I must say that the folding clasp, when it's nicely polished is absolutely beautiful!

I've now got my eye on a chronomat LE and/or navitimer LE...

The SOH (46mm?) is a wonderful watch! On a mesh bracelet they are just superb!

I'm surprised that no one picked this up, given the number of eagle eyes out there...

On the TO gmt there is a marker missing between the 56 and 57 minute position.
Given that the photo was taken less than a month after i bought the watch, do people think it would be grounds for replacement? Or would it have to be sent back to switzerland to be fixed (i"m assuming that they wouldn't be able to fix it in sydney- unless they just replace the whole dial)?

Of course the watch hasn't been dropped so it was most likely sold to me like that.

Doesn't look missing to me.
Outer ring designates quarter and half hours and seem to be in line with everything else.

He means the sub seconds ticks on the minute ring - there are only two between 56 and 57, not three as there should be.

It would be a complete dial replacement to fix, no idea if the Australian service centre has parts for that.

Thanks Roff

I assume the dials are somehow printed and therefore the defect must have been present at the time of purchase....Ie the watch can be thrown at a brick wall and it won't affect the appearance of the dial....well it might but you get my point. :uplaugh:

i'm on good terms with the manager at the ad that i bought it from so i'll see what strings he can pull.

If anyone has any other advice, feel free to chip in. :D

What a way to start your Breitling collection and in a hurry! I'm afraid that little missing mark would drive me crazy and the longer you own it the bigger its going to look to your eye, sucks but I would send it to Breitling since you've got 2 other new toys and sounds as if there will be more on the way. :lingsrock:

Thanks

Yeah, surprised that no one spotted it, including QC at breitling! It's only a small defect I know but where do you draw the line for a luxury watch???

Reminds of something which occurred a few months ago in my shop. A client of mine bought a Rolex Datejust in 2003 witch Arabic numerals on the dial. The guy wasn't a real connoisseur and never brought his watch in for service. A few months ago he came in my shop and asked me to look at his watch. I looked and kept looking but didn't see anything strange. He said, look at the dial so I did and suddenly I saw the problem: the number 10 on the dial stood where 11 should be and 11 where 10 should be. The guy never saw it in all the time he owned it. I called Rolex and they told me they would replace the dial with a new one free of charge but my client didn't want that. He said he's the only person in the world with a watch and dial like that and he would leave it as it is. He just wanted me to show the dial. And with a smile on his face he left the store...

I wouldn't have changed it either. Quite extraordinary.
