Hi,

Watch in question is a Superocean Heritage 42 with a rubber strap which I don't like and want to change it to a metal strap so spoke with Breitling
this morning who said that the only one that is compatible with my watch is the 'Ocean Classic Mesh' strap.

I asked the question whether any other of their straps would fit and was told categorically that they would not.

Does anybody know if indeed Breitling are correct with what they are saying or are there other Breitling straps that would fit as
don't particularly like the mesh strap?

They are correct. If you look on the breitling website, only the mesh strap is available for the heritage 44 or 46. You would need endlinks to use a different bracelet and they don't exist for this model. Not familiar with the 42 so I can't comment.

However for some models such as Navitimer chronomatic 24, some Bentley models, and the colt chrono2, the bracelets have non specific end links. You just need to check the lug width.

I personally prefer the mesh for the heritage

Hi,

Thanks for your reply and very much appreciate your comments.

I have looked again at Breitlings site and the metal strap available for the Colt Chrono 2 would be perfect if it fits so will do as you
suggested and check the lug width for that particular watch and hope that it is 22mm.

Thanks again.

I have the colt chrono2, and it is indeed 22mm. There was such a bracelet for sale on eBay recently.
Seller is "thetimepieceboutique"

This was my mini review

As you can see, it is brushed. But your heritage is polished. So unless you plan to get the bracelet fully polished....?

Hi,

Once again thanks for your reply.

Good point and have just spoken with Breitling again who have said that the bracelet has a finish of both polished and matt steel
so have decided that probably the best thing to do is to go into their flagship store in Bond Street and see for myself if the strap
will fit and what it looks like.

Good stuff. Have fun perusing the store! I bet you'll walk away with more than just strap!

A 'strap' made of metal is called a Bracelet. If made of leather or any other material it is a Strap.

Just be aware before you shell out for a non mesh that it is not just the inter lug that matters with bracelets.
The geometry of the watch head and position of the pin holes must match exactly for a perfect fit.

Hi,

Noted. I am going to Breitling tomorrow, so will make sure that the bracelet fits correctly before
parting with any money and I am also curious as to the description of the bracelet being part brushed
and part polished so will see for myself.

My colt 2 "professional" bracelet is fully brushed. No polishing whatsoever?

The only part polish part brushed bracelet that I can think of is the speed bracelet from a Bentley GT racing. Which luckily for you is 22mm and non specific end links :)

BBBD and Chronomatic 24hr are both brushed/polished.
