unchartered territory. but the signed bridge & the combination of Montbrillant & Breitling signature are clearly wrong for me.
never saw such a case engraving.

Fred The case back appears to have the logo raised thru casting and not engraved in. looks kind of odd!

I have never seen anything 100% authentic Breitling come out of Uruguay. They do originate a lot of fakes and have a dial manufacturer gainfully employed. Reason enough to assume it's a fake. If this watch had any chance at all of being original it more than likely would not say Breitling on the dial (which looks sloppy in this case) and would be too early to have a signed bridge. The size being 38mm is very large for early pieces. Pass on this one.

Agree with all that has been said, but the case does look period correct. If it were smaller then I would have suggested a redial and Breitling added to the movement.

Is the overall concensus it is fake. I am intrigued by the raised letters in the case back. I have never seen a casting like that!

Rick,
what do you mean by 'raised' ? , I see them stamped in , like any other case marking , and not raised (higher than the surrounding metal)

Rene The shadowing around the letters gives them the appearance that they are above the surface of the inside back. In dentistry we refer to it as a positive image that you can obtain thru a casting or pressed in a mold.

And I note that the Great Charlatan has fallen for this one before. It's a bad gag. No watchmaker has ever put his advertising copy on the inside caseback. In this instance, the spelling is wrong, if you don't mind the absent "s"es.
