Finally got an Avenger II GMT, so I'd figure to post some pictures. I really really like the size on it, as it has what appears to be a bigger dial than the Steelfish, and sits much lower on the wrist. If I didn't know that it was a 43mm watch, I'd say that it feels closer to a 44-45mm design.

Before you read further, I am extremely happy with the head and face of the watch. My criticism at this time lies with the cheaply feeling bracelet.

Now what you are probably wanting to know is how the new Bracelet plays out. Unfortunately I can't provide extremely positive feedback on it. The bracelet fits nice and feels great when you wear it. However, compared to the Steelfish Pro II Bracelet, it feels very "tinny." Truthfully, my first thought when I tapped on the bracelet was that it sounded like a Rolex Jubilee bracelet, very thin and tinny sounding. Perhaps because the bracelet is extremely light, maybe that's why it sounds cheap, tinny and made me question whether it is hollow.

Overall I'm very pleased, but disappointed with how cheap the Bracelet feels and sounds. I've only worn it one day, and maybe time will convince me that the bracelet is worthwhile, but as of now, I'd forgo the extra price of the bracelet.

Here are pictures for your review. I have about a 7.3 inch wrist. Sorry the lighting isn't perfect, I'll post more tomorrow.

Nice comparison shots you have there. I love how they thinned the case a bit, but it seems the new bracelet looks about half the thickness of the pro II, maybe that's whats giving it somewhat of a "cheap" feel. However I love the looks of it, and only time will tell if it will hold up to its older siblings as far as reliability. But overall it looks awesome and I would love to have one. Next time I have a chance is like to try one on and give it a feel for myself.

to me the GMT II feels much larger than the Super Ocean Steelfish 44mm watch.

If they had used the old bracelet, I would be completely happy. The new bracelet is just so light feeling and sounds so flimsy. To help others get a feeling for its sound, think of what it sounds like when you tap a Rolex Jubilee bracelet, or one of those thin Seiko/Citizen Rolex homage type bracelets. The new Breitling Bracelet sounds similar.

Again, I like the watch, but criticize the bracelet.

It looks great and congrats on the purchase! That's really disappointing to hear that it seems like they took a step backwards with the bracelet as the bracelet has been one of their strong points typically.

wow big congrats on the new piece. this was one of the 2013 releases that i was looking forward to the most. your complaint regarding the bracelet seems to be shared amongst other breitling fans as well. but lets be honest....at the price point its a good buy.

for me i love the profile and thickness of this piece. with the reduction in height and the WR rating it has, I truly feel this is going to be a big winner!

Thanks for the comparison shots with the steelfish. It is much thinner than I thought to include the bracelet. Thanks again

I'd like to hear some more thoughts on this watch now that you've lived with it for a while. I think the watch itself is a huge win for Breitling, the rugged Avenger Seawolf-like dial (I always loved the font but the Seawolf just felt too large to me), classic bezel with rider tabs, slimmed down case and still having a great depth rating. Breitling pulled off the slim Avenger beautifully. I too think the bracelet is a question mark, but it does look good and the lightness of it may be intentionally to balance the watch better and fit with the slimmer profile. Who knows, maybe the thicker bracelet just didn't look right with the new thinner case?

Might be a perfect candidate for an Ocean Racer strap.

The watch has been worn quite a bit, mostly on a brown leather strap. I recently put back on bracelet and have worn it several days this week.

No major issues w the bracelet other than my prior opinions on its light weight. A few friends have commented on how they like it on the bracelet more than the steelfish, so perhaps the bracelet it has more cross appeal.

All good feedback still at this time. A minor secondary criticism is the bezel being a 3rd time zone bezel rather than a countdown bezel. I apparently used the timing on my steelfish more than I thought, and don't need the third time zone.

Next time you have it on the brown leather strap could you post a pic?

I'm very tempted to get one of these as I love the look of the seawolf but it's just far too big for me. If I did get one it would spend 90% of the time on rubber or leather but so far there are few 'real life' shots on the web of either.

The Avenger II GMT looks absolutely fabulous.
I do however prefer the Pro II bracelet by MILES!
