Was Flipping through this newly released book at the local bookstore - "101 Things to Buy before you Die!"

Guess this book follows the tradition of "101 Places to See before you Die" et al.

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/101-Th ... 1933176093

WHAT's INTERESTING IS: Under Men's Watches, this book recommends that every Man should Own These 3 Brands before they Die:
1. Rolex
2. Omega
3. Breitling

I found that quite flattering, really! Not expecting Breitling to be there! In that - It is an AWESOME timepiece, But didn't expect 2 Lady Shopping Gurus to know about it!

By the way, How many of you can tick "Men's Watches" off your list of 101 things to BUY before you Die?

Yep, I can tick Rolex, Breitling and Omega off of my
shopping list. It's the remaining 98 items I've got
to worry about. :)

Yep I can tick those three of the list too.

I agree that every watch fan probably should own at least one Rolex at some point, but I'd have to put Omega below Breitling!

When they pass the "46 mm barrier" on their cases I might consider it, but... damn, they feel small.

yes, which was one of the reasons I sold mine! That and the cheap feel of the hollow centre-links and horrid pressed metal of the clasp.... thankfully now rectified in the current models! :woohoo:

i hate to admit it but my SS sub DOES feel small and cheap. when i bought mine 12 years ago or longer it was pretty dang big. id never sell it as it was a goal i set for myself as a kid to get one.

but the thing is small by todays standards.

The Rolex's are not particularly small, Breitlings are HUGE
Well I can tick off 2 out of the 3 watches, I can't find an Omega that floats my boat yet

I can tick them all three... :) The Rolexes I've had have been passed to other owners and most of the Omegas too, but there's a Speedmaster SE on my arm right now.

If I make a move on an Omega it would be the Seamaster from the Bond movie... I really like the deep blue face on the watch, but since it's a quartz not sure; I prefer automatics.

They do an automatic too. I had one myself and it was a fine watch..... if a little common-place.
