Before I part with £400 on the OEM croc strap, can anyone tell me if it is water resistant in any way?

I don't plan on using it to dive or swim, but my job requires me to wash my hands on a regular basis so it's normal for my watch and strap to get wet. Would regularly getting it wet lower the life of the strap at all?

I'm also considering the Hirsh waterproof Alligator strap as an alternative, but would much prefer an OEM strap tbh.

I believe it will substantially shorten the life , not the outside as much but typically getting it wet all the time will wear out and ruin the inside to the point the leather inside deteriorates

The OEM Breitling croco strap is most definitely not water resistant, so if your watch is likely to be wet a considerable amount then I'd definitely go for an aftermarket water resistant version.

Or swap it out for a rubber strap for the best water resistance.

Sharkskin looks great on a deployant clasp.

Definitely waterproof!

I wouldn't waste the money on OEM if it going to frequently get wet. Go with a cheaper alternative since it will be in contact with water so much.
