OK, the AD is more than happy for me to exchange my watch for another, he can't get another Skyland Black Steel, so the question is, my personal choice:-

Super Avenger Black Steel or Montbrillant Legend?

As you probably fell for the Blacksteel in the first place (and then overrode my own hesitations below), I'd say the SA Blacksteel.

But for my own opinion I'd go with the Legende. It's a gorgeous watch... ;) Also, I'd be a bit too worried on scratching the DLC on the Blacksteel plus that you can't get it on a bracelet.

I've got to agree with Aleister on this one..... but then this is my personal concern regarding any type of surface coating speaking here!

Well I feel qualified to comment as I own both an AS Blacksteel and a TT Legende, but I don't know.

They are just such totally different watches, I can't imagine living without either. If you are looking at just one watch then neither is the most sensible choice for a daily wearer - the Blacksteel for reasons discussed, the Legende because it's always going to be a fairly dressy watch with the usability restrictions implied of a Navitimer.

I think you really need to consider the situations you want it for - if more casual use, go with a Blacksteel, if more dressy, go with a Legende.

Well I finally tracked one down.... :D About two weeks ago, I found one in Eastern Europe and was getting 8% discount making the cost about €3400 excluding shipping. However, as I was waiting for a reply to my e-mail in which I was pushing for 10%, it was sold.

Today I found one in the UK and not only will he not discount it, the price is 10% higher than the RRP. Should I go for it? I'm thinking that the is probably the last of any AD's stock.

It's all a matter of supply and demand. Supply is low... clearly. No how bad do you want it?

The AD has taken mine back and I've ordered a Navitimer World instead, black dial on the stainless bracelet with an additional black leather to go with it.

I had a browse through the Chronolog 08 and the Navitimer World just jumped out at me!

I presume he will return my AS black steel to Breitling for a credit. So look out for 1908/2000 if it ever re-appears!

Limerick62, have you thought about the SA blacksteel, my dealer offered me one for £3,400 but wasn't sure on delivery, he said it could be as far away as December!

Stef

Hi Stef
I did think about the AS Blacksteel and my local AD can get one but the two things putting me off are the diameter (48.4mm v 45.0mm) and the bezel lacks some of the detail of the AS Blacksteel

The bezel was one of the things that put me off too.
