I am wondering what the Plug is that is on All breitling bentley models on the opposite side of the case (literally straight across from the tube & crown on other side of case).....?? I believe it is just a plug and it is a way to 'adjust' the tachometer without disassembling the entire case... But I've never had to take one out when disassembling or overhauling one of these models before, and I've never seen one even come out until now (on a stainless model anyway)... And if anyone would like a reference or model number to look at the watch, it is A25362 Bentley motors (date at 6; 7750 movt)... So if anyone knows what this piece is called or if you know what it is there for (even if you Don't know what its called), please let me know... I am in need of the part right now and want to purchase it or order it from someone but I don't have a clue what its called!.. Everyone I talk to has no clue and wants me to send the watch in.. And knowing my luck they will ask for an overhaul or polish, etc, which I want none of... So any help is appreciated! It's the access to the gears for the bezel and unless you are a Breitling approved service centre Breitling won't sell you one, I have never seen any for sale privately. I am sure that it has an official Breitling name and part number but no idea what that would be.

Ya..... That's what I was figuring it was for... Since the tachometer is connected to the bezel, it makes sense to have access to it without having to open the case, pull the movement, etc.... But I'm still wanting to know what its called and if anyone out there is able to get me one... Thank you everyone!

You have to get it to a service center or an AD with a Breitling Certified watchmaker who can order and install it. The public can't direct order any old Breitling part they want.

I am fully aware.... That's why I was asking everyone on here... You never know if they had one pop out one time and had it replaced and I could buy the old one from them, or if a poster/reader on here who worked for an AD could give me an actual Part name for it so I don't keep going around calling it the plus across from the tube & crown.... Also, I didn't know if someone currently working for an AD might just have one in stock, post it, and I could send it to them, badaboom! All good! I appreciate the reply confirming what I thought it was because that certainly helps... But like I said, just figured I would ask... Didn't figure it would hurt to give it a try.... Well, for what its worth. Richter, in his book, calls it a (wait for it), a 'Housing'! Part # 5 in the assembly view of the patented bezel turning mechanism. Publishers over printing and not what might be the official description from Breitling.

Not sure if that helps, as it seems odd to call it that. I would have thought the words 'Case or Cover Plug' would be a better fit.

Jim you're awesome..... You can tell you are a true connoisseur! Not just someone who wants to get on here and rip people apart because they don't know every little bit and fact about the brand... And I didn't think it was a stupid question because of ALL the people who moderate and are on this forum (which some are some smart and positioned persons) couldn't even answer the question... So again, than you very much... The problem is when I say "plug", people are like, what the heck are you talking about?.... So I guess case housing for bezel/tachometer adjustment makes a lot more sense.. Especially to watchmakers who I usually speak with because sales people (in almost every brand) are usually next to worthless... Anyways, already wrote it all down... Part #5, etc.... And you are right Jim, I'm with you.... A friction fit piece of metal that literally Pushes into the side of the case, you would THINK would be called a plug of some kind.... But hey... Isn't that what the world is all about nowadays?? Making Everything more difficult than it really has to be.....? I'd say so..... Anyways, thank you to all who were actually trying to Help, those of you who PM'd me, and you Jim with the save the day answer.... Ya learn somethin new every day! Thanks!

And Richter's diagram does not include Breitling part numbers or official names so won't be remotely helpful. It is actually an extract from the patent application for the mechanism for the bezel of a chrono-matic series watch and the numbers are simply a legend for the 'figure 4' in the patent application.

Yes I see that now that I know what it is.... But its knowledge that doesn't hurt to bring to the table when talking to breitling watchmakers about it.... Like I said before, I sure they will say "it costs $100", then I pay and they push one in... I'm sure its that simple.. However i was just trying to see if this was common, what it was called, and just any technical background, besides "its how you get to the bezel", that I could get... But again, thank you to all for your time and efforts.. If anyone happens to run across the part number or how Breitling themselves would refer to it or order it, by all means, please share... And again, thank you.....!
