I got lazy on this after thinking I had it sold, then getting an offer just a bit too low, then questioning whether I could justify keeping it, but I DID promise my wife, so,

For sale is my Breitling Headwind, owned by me for 2.5 years. Here's the full disclosure:

The bad: No box and papers. It came to me after a buffing job in its past which was not right, and the serial number was also buffed out. No question it's authentic, please see movement and inner case pics. Engraving inside lugs puts the production date at the 25th week of 2001. (SEE BS article under FAQ on identification on the case) Pic shows scratches inside the lugs for a bracelet which are not visible with a strap on. Don't know if SN was the result of a bad buff job or whether it started out life as a grey market piece (they used to buff the numbers on grey market pieces back then).

The good: I had the watch fully serviced a year and a half ago. I also had it re-buffed so that all surfaces are as they should be. The case is free of marks or dings other than between the lugs, and the AR is clean. It comes with the Breitling deployant clasp. When I last checked, it was +/- 2 seconds a day.

It comes on a Bob shark strap in good shape and comes with a Breitling croc which is very worn, I blacked out the stitching and had a polish done. Please check the pics.

Asking $1,500 net to me, but have had a couple of bites with trade and cash. I will consider a trade for a black dial piece with mostly cash to me. References available if you need them, but I've spent a little time around here.

Further edit: My location was posted as the Netherlands on Watch Recon, so I am emphasizing CONUS seller and CONUS sale only. If you are outside that area and I know you, please disregard.

I decided to try a semi-formal look and spruce up a band which doesn't have a lot of life left it it (the Breitling one). I don't see a PM yet, but I'll check in later.

GLWS. You helped me so much with my first Breitling purchase, also a Headwind. It must pain you to let it go. Mine has the satin bracelet and it is always drawing compliments. Scott is a great guy, so buy will confidence.

Sorry for the duplication, but Watch Recon lists me as a seller in the Netherlands. I want to clarify I'm in the U.S. and would prefer to sell in CONUS unless I know you.

I really tempted with this one but I'm so worried that I'll be stuck with it due to the lack of serial #

Scott,

May I ask where was the service done a year and a half ago and do you have any paperwork from the service?

Sure, my longtime watch guy here did it. I will have to look for the service record, I think I have it. Service was done I believe about May-June of 2012.
