Hi just wanted to ask if someone csn explain to me why some 806 navitimers from the same year have and some haven't got a boxed 10 ..why? What's the story? Are both correct? Is one more rare? Thanks in advance!

67 is the most common boxed 10, also seen on some up to a couple of years earlier. No apparent logic to it as far as I know.

Thanks good to know...my 806 is boxed and serial no dates it to 1968 so I assume that is still ok would be great if it was 67 as that's my birth year. Thanks again!

Wouldn't be concerned with '68 but post pictures and we can take a look.

Sometime in 1966, Breitling started putting the "10"s in a red box. Sometime in 1968, they dropped the box and just made the "10"s red.

The 1965 boxed versions seem to be the gold-plated editions, so I assume the cases were bought in 1965 and made up in that span between unknown dates in 1966 and 1968.
