Like most of the people here, I was not too impressed with the newer chronomat 44, however browsing through the more I saw them, and an occasional wristie, I grew more and more fond of it. I finally decided on the stainless onyx black dial with the roman numerals. The feature I like the best though, is the brushed bezel. Gives the watch a more even look IMO, and finishes off the case nicely! I did not get the box and papers, however I got a great deal so that wasn't really an issue for me, as I can acquire box and manual from BUSA. I will update this thread with pictures when it arrives Monday. I am extremely happy with my purchase and I know the more I wear this new piece the more I will appreciate it! In the mean time, I'd love to hear other members opinions on their favorite configurations on the B01 chronomat. :lingsrock:

Hi Matt,

Congratulations on the new acquisition. Sounds good. Be interested in seeing a wrist shot once you have it delivered.

Congrats Matt, that is a nice combination!
I am sure you will not be disappointed with it.
I remember being in two minds about the Chronomat at one stage too but I pulled the trigger anyway so as to complete my "one heart three legends" collection. The minute I got it, it started growing on me to the extend that it gets the biggest share of my wrist time.
Enjoy!

Well I guess most watch enthusiasts prefer classic looking pieces that do not sway away from the conventional design of a watch. Just like the kind of woman that every parent will like and want you to marry. They do their job well, but they don't make you excited. They do not have that kind of flaws that many hate but you like because that makes them so special and different from the rest. It's called imperfection beauty. I guess I am a flirt in the world of horology. I want a wife who not only does her job well, but also sexy, seductive, and different, the one of a kind that makes me excited and feels special that it's hard to find another one like her in the whole world. But I will still want to have lots of mistresses to make my life more interesting-next door girl, from elegant to the very wild types, I want them all;p

Chronomat 44 is the dream wife that I want. It contains the classic elements and DNA from it's ancestors, but however it also has the one of a kind elements that make me feel special and different from other watches. Call them flaws if you want, but I personally love them. The imperfection beauty that makes them stand out and leaves a deep impression on people.. I personally label the design as timeless, but at the same time I also describe the design as futuristic and modern. It still makes me excited everyday when I see it even though I have gotten it for more than a year. That's why it's still getting majority of my wrist time and not the conventional styled GMT that I bought recently. I think one reason is because I have not seen anyone wearing the same model as me in my country so far. That's great to me as I don't like having the same thing as other people, especially when it's so expensive so I want to feel more exclusive having something different.

Congrats on your purchase and I don't think you will ever grow tired of it. Instead it will make you feel more excited everyday that it might start getting more and more of your wrist time. My only concern is whether your one comes with the 5 years warranty, because chances of utilising it at least once is high. Anyway look forward to your photos:)

Nice. I think I would also go your combo. The Romans ad a classic look. In my opinion. I would have the opition of a black calf/Croco to ad to the look. For me it would be a hard choice between sliver and black dial. I also Like you will have to get a bargain. Looking at the weekend I am not paying what they are asking even with discount, walking out the door and taking a 40% hit, not for me at their prices.

Looking forward to your pics and enjoy your new purchase!

Well, the box came today with a new toy for me, when I opened it up I was pretty happy. I knew there was no box and papers, which again was not a big deal to me, but overall condition was a little poor. Hard signs of use, on the bracelet ad case, bezel is a little rough and the glass has a couple hairlines. It's going to need an overhaul, but I was going to send it out anyway to get it serviced and in like new condition again.

This might be a stretch, but since the date code is from 2010, there should still be time on the warranty? Or is it only 5 years for the movement?

Matt,
congrats, that's a real beauty. Looks great on strap or bracelet. If you take it to a good watchmaker, they can buff that puppy out to look brand new too. Wear it in good health!

There's a 5 year warranty on all watches containing the in house movement sold after January 1st 2012, anything sold before was only 2 years.

Figures.. Oh well, I'm still very happy with the purchase, and the deal I got allows for a few bucks for a good polish and will look real nice at that point. Thanks guys for all your input!

Ya like 46 says you could just have it polished up and wait till you need or are due a service. Looking on my phone the case don't look that bad at all and a good hour with a cape cod would have the bracelet looking super.

I've been working at it with a Sunshine, it's going to take some elbow grease but it will be worth it.

If it helps I had a very tatty bracelet that need some TLC and first I brushed it down to remove the deeper scratches and marks. I used an old worn sanding block to brush it. That removed all the heavy marks so as to start fresh.

Please take this advice carefully as you would need confidence in what you are doing. I only worked on the bracelet as I could isolate it from the watch and worked on it separately. I did not dare try it on the head!

Worked really well for me tho.!
