My wife surprised me for my birthday a couple of weeks ago with a new toy - my first Breitling, the Super Ocean Heritage 46 on a mesh bracelet:

Thanks to the forums here I found the instructions on how to shorten the bracelet to fit and couldn't be happier with the dressiness of the mesh.

But I did immediately add the croc strap for a more casual look:

I've only had it now two weeks, but loving the weight, the feel and the look.

Very nice, but I personally think the strap makes it look more formal rather than casual. The mesh looks casual to me. Like the strap look on that watch much better.

I like the Superocean a lot, I think it looks great on croc and mesh. Nice pic up!

Congrats! Nice looking piece on any strap/bracelet. Sounds like the wife is a keeper too. Happy belated birthday.

Looks good on the croc.

Thinking to get the oem croc strap myself. Can you tell me if the finish of the strap is glossy/shiny?

It's definitely not a matte finish, but not glossy like a pair of wingtips or patent leather shoes - you can see it does reflect some light, but it's not shiny.

I have the same watch and in fact wearing it as I type. The mesh is a great look but so is the OEM rubber strap (with the three holes on the sides). It is super comfortable and has a great micro-adjusting clasp. Would highly recommend even over the croc strap if you are looking for a totally new look for the watch.

+1 on the Ocean Racer. The most comfortable strap I've ever worn. The micro adjustments on the clasp version are great.
