Another question please.

I see the The watch source has 20% off their watches but after reading their FAQ's it says they're not an authorised dealer so not sure how this works and would you use them or trust them?

If I'm buying my first Breitling I want legit one with full warranty and papers etc.

Thank you

If they aren't an AD then you won't get a warranty. You can also get close to that discount from an AD - I think that you are in the UK and there are two sponsor ADs in the UK - Andrew Michaels and Banks Lyon who would be happy to help.

I did have a sneaky feeling that the warranty wouldn't be there.

I've looked at Andrew Michaels which looks good.

No idea but ADs are listed on the Breitling website.

Hi again everyone I've decided I would like to go for the Breitling avenger "code yellow" or "code orange as this looks a stunning watch to me.

Have any of you knowledgable users got any thoughts on this particular watch?

Thanks

You need to allow a bit more than two hours for a response - many forum users will scarcely be up yet.

But in general these subjective questions get a fairly limited response, cos if you think the watch is stunning, who cares what anyone else thinks?! It's an iconic watch, it sings to you in those colours, go for it. Some nice pics on here in those combos if you search for them I think.

my only advice is buy something that YOU love. the resale value on watches is absolute shit, so don't make the mistake that some of us have done of getting something and flipping it for a big loss.

the secondary market is a great place to pick up breitling watches just make sure to know who you are dealing with.

I didn't reply again because I didn't think that providing the same answer for the third time in the same thread would add any value. As has been said, if you like it, buy it, if you don't, don't. The opinions of a bunch of complete strangers who you have never met should not be a factor.

I recently bought a Seawolf Avenger Code Yellow from Andrew Michaels and I love it, as per previous comments that's all that matters, not worried about resale value as I don't intend to sell it...! If you want a good investment then put the money in an ISA, alternatively go to an AD, try on a few watches, and if you find one you love at the right price for you then buy it, it's an investment in personal happiness nothing more! Can highly recommend Andrew Michaels - excellent service, good luck with your purchase

I would go to an AD and try a few watches. Also the things to think about are, movement type auto or quartz, watch size, water resistance and so on. Think if what it is exactly you want your watch to be able to "do". Go on the Breitling website you can check technical specifications of every model they have. Decide on a few models you would like to see and go to the AD to try them on and see each model in person. This is the best thing I can tell you to do. Other's opinion doesn't matter. It's what you want and what you need. For example, to me it's important to have a decent water resistance, and my watch have to be accurate, and have some basic functions so I bought the aerospace. Does this make sense?

Cheers for the answers and yes agree it's about what I want and want to wear.

As I don't know too much about Breitlings what I have found out through searching answers is exactly what a couple of above posters have said and that's Breitlings resale value is completely hideous which for me not knowing the score has really shocked me.

It seems as soon as you stick that watch on your hand whatever the price you've already lost a few grand already and I'm now seriously thinking of buying an excellent condition pre-owned one.

Honestly if resale value is of importance to you stick with Rolex and Patek. Everything else seems to take a beating.

I understand your question though, sometimes it's nice to get a general idea of "whats good" or if there any models to stay away from, but everyone is basically just saying buy what you would like , and not worry so much about what anyone else thinks. That being said any model you choose would be a great choice because you chose it, and can enjoy it for years to come.
