Does anyone know a ballpark turn-around time for a World sent in for a general service to Breitling HQ? I am going to be sending mine in to check for water damage and general maintenance. Any general info would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Someone who has recently got a regular service back from BUSA can probably correct me, but I believe it is currently 8 - 10 weeks. Of course if you wait much longer before sending that potentially water damaged piece in it could be longer as they wait for a long list of parts from Switzerland :!:

I've been waiting for the warranty card to send it in, if I don't send in the card with it they won't just charge me for the damage repair if any but also for general maintenance? Should I just send it in regardless of the card?

I would phone them up, tell them that you have a potentially water damaged watch that needs attention and want to send the warranty information separately if they can't confirm from their records that the watch is still under warranty. I suspect that they will be more than accommodating.

I will send the World out today, along with a note explaining the warranty card situation, it should not be a problem. I just hope it doesn't take too long, but either way at least it will be like new and fully operational when I get it back.

Thanks for the info. I sent it off yesterday so the waiting game begins. As soon as I hear something I will update the post.

I got a call from BUSA today, they let me know there was moisture damage to the movement, so the watch is getting serviced, plus a complete overhaul while its there and its all covered under warranty. Lesson learned for sure. They said it could take up to 8 weeks but it had been noted as expedited so may receive it sooner than that. I realize that I dodged a bullet and this could have been charged instead of covered by the warranty, so anyone who reads this, NO WATER FOR NAVITIMERS PERIOD!

And don't delay sending it in if it does get water in :poke:

Glad to hear they didn't question you and are doing the work under warranty. Beats the heck out of paying for it yourself!

Glad to hear that Matt. Should be looking like new now. They did a great job on both of mine.
