Well, I think that it is time to give credit where it is due. The news release from Breitling for the Aerospace Evo has significantly dialed back on the hyperbole and actually provides meaningful information about the watch - great job Breitling!

Whether or not this is a conscious move away from the silliness of last year's news releases (and there is some evidence of that in other recent releases), or whether it is simply because this is more of a tool watch, only time will tell, but this is actually a helpful and realistic release. Wording below:

A new look for pilots’ favorite instrument.

Breitling has redesigned its electronic multifunction Aerospace chronograph in a style that is even more powerful and dynamic, yet as technical as ever. A highly professional design combined with peerless functionality.

First launched in 1985, the Aerospace has asserted itself as one of the stellar models in the Breitling Professional range. Equipped with a chronometer-certified SuperQuartz™ movement, ten times more accurate than standard quartz, it is distinguished by its particularly simple and logical control system. Simply rotating, pressing or pulling out the crown is enough to operate the entire set of functions that are all especially useful to aviators: 1/100th of a second chronograph, countdown timer, 2nd timezone, alarm, audible time signal (minute repeater) and calendar. The Aerospace also features an extremely effective and NVG-compatible display backlighting system.

Breitling now combines this peerless precision, readability and functionality with a new design clearly cut out for great accomplishments. Its distinctive features include a slightly larger diameter, an engraved bezel with integrated rider-tabs, redesigned hands and numerals, and a beveled glass. The light yet sturdy case in titanium – a favorite metal in the field of aeronautics – is entirely satin-brushed, while its back bears a conversion scales for Anglo-Saxon and metric measurements. The new Aerospace Evo is available with three dials – black, blue or grey – and comes fitted with a leather, crocodile leather or rubber strap or a titanium bracelet. It may also be equipped with an optional auxiliary Co-Pilot electronic module integrated into the metal bracelet.

It's beginning to look a little bit like the Victorinox XLS-MT (not at all a bad thing!)

The new owner who posted pics on various NATO straps has some nice shots of it. The gray dial with blue NATO was really striking.

Been having a really good look at this! Very impressed with this watch. This may just be the one that brings me back to Breitling! I have to be honest, it really is the most appealing Breitling model to me right now.

The fact that it has that gorgeous Ti case and bracelet, as well as the Ti bezel with rider tabs is also very appealing. The Breitling ss and ti bezels have always been a big hit with me. Not to mention, I have always been most impressed with Breitling SuperQuartz movements. My favourite Breitling movements(s), even moreso than the new inhouse automatics.

I think the black dial would be my choice. However, I really want to see that grey dial in person as well.

I've fondled an Evo a few weeks back, and gotta say, the pics I've seen Dont do this watch justice, very handsome, a bit large for my stick wrists, and seems to wear a bit larger in person.Still awesome.

That perforated hour hand is not a design improvement, IMHO

Agree. Visibility in darkness is diminished. Dunno if retrofit w/hands of previous model is possible.

Much prefer the 42mm Avantage models and the Pro II bracelet. That is why I got in the end after handling the EVO which was quite frankly underwhelming.
