while researching something else I stumbled upon this, at first glance, nice ratty duograph

http://www.antiquewatch-carese.com/stoc ... e6205.html

upon closer inspection :

-: back seems turned , erasing previous marks ?
-: no breitling inside or outside of the back ?
-: balance staff with 'breitling' engraved seems a different colour from the rest of the movement ? (replaced ?)

whats your opinion ?

The difference in tonal value could be due to the Genève strip in that shot. You can just make it out.

Very clean.

Nice watch. I always think these are a great gentleman’s watch. A bit of old world charm and nostalgia all wrapped up in some sophistication.

I have seen two of these watches in person, one with this crown and one with the other style. Neither has had that machined turned case back. Both did however have the same signed balance so I would am good with this. Here is the case back of the Duo that I posted not long ago that I saw in person. Sorry, he did not let me take movement images unless I was buying.

this Duograph is absolutly genuine and original in contrast to the Duograph in Christies auction.
That machined turned case back existed in this year, it depends of the year or serial number. I have seen exact the same caseback here.

Just because you have/had one doesnt speak to its authenticity , actually quite the contrary ! it probably moves the pendulum from 'maybe authentic' to '90% fake'

btw , I am still waiting for the 5000 reward you promised to pay for leads to your stolen V72
