Hey guys. Did anyone had a Navitiemr World recently serviced? I wonder how much they go for at BUSA (full overhaul), and how much would be for just a crystal replacement. Thanks in advance.

Service costs are in here - http://www.breitling.com/multimedia/pdf ... v-1219.pdf, so $560 for a full service plus the cost of hands. You won't be able to get a crystal replacement without a service because the movement will be compromised by the crystal replacement, crystal will be about $150 on top of the service.

$150 for a crystal, are you sure? I remember hearing something like $350.

Several people have reported costs of between $100 and $200. There will be some variations based on things like the amount of curve, thickness etc, but that's not an issue for a Navi.

OMG. Just received an estimate for my Navi World for for service and crystal replacement. Full overhaul is $670, and crystal replacement is additional $631. They also stated that the antiglare coating can't be reapplied. Since I live in FL, they would add tax on top of this as well.

They are correct about replacing the AR coating, but that seems crazy expensive for the crystal, I would check why so expensive.

Margaret over at Breitling USA confirmed again that in deed is $631 for crystal alone. Does anyone knows a cheaper place to get in replaced, or any suggestions? I really dont know what to do since it seams outrageous to pay $1,400 for all of this.

May be a long shot but try contacting JD Watchworks in San Francisco. They are Breitling authorised but not Breitling owned so may be a bit cheaper.

In my opinion, just forget the crystal replacement and polish off the AR coating yourself with some Cape Cod cloth. I removed my AR coating as it seemed so stupid to me to have a coating that scratches when the glass itself is scratch proof. The underside of the glass still has the AR coating..

Veki.....
Can't speak to price on your service, but I want to assure you that Juliusz at J.D. Watchworks in San Francisco is a great guy. He is knowledgeable, professional, and his shop is spotless. His prices are reasonable and he completes the required work in a fair amount of time.....

PM me if you need address, e-mail etc....

I had a navitimer world a few years ago and always thought that tapping on the, "crystal" felt more plasticity than any other high end watch. I'm sure that it was real crystal, but felt really cheap. Any other's experience this?

Quite a few threads on it, it's because the bezel to which the crystal is attached is just friction fit.

Just wondering, but if they are replacing the crystal, why wouldn't they coat it with AR?
