I recently purchased by first Breitling SOH42. I did not take note of the screw lock, rather I just turned the crownclockwise until I felt a resistance.
Yesterday i notice a little condensation, but it was gone in a few minutes.

I called the store I purchased the watch at to find out about locking the crown, something which I vaguely remember the salesman showing me.

So now I know you need to screw while pushing the crown down.

How much damage should I anticipate ? I do intend to send for service the first opportunity I get ( since I purchased the watch from another country and no Breitling dealer in my country)

Thanks

If you turned the crown clockwise until you felt resistance it sounds it like it was locked. If it wasn't screwing down you wouldn't have felt resistance - you'd simply have been winding the watch. The question I suppose is how 'locked' it was.

As you anticipate it obviously needs looking at asap.

If it got sea water in it then it needs service attention immediately - it literally could be getting worse by the day. If you can't do anything right now then put it in a box with some silica gel and the crown unscrewed to draw out as much moisture as possible, but salt water in the movement could already be doing damage.
