Hi all.

I was just interested in the amount of time it has taken some members of this site, form the time you handed over your Breitling til the time it was returned to you.

I have an Emergency mssion and it has been off my wrist now for 3 months and still not back..........

Albeit i live in New Zealand and it first goes to Australia then Switzerland but 3 months and still not back, im starting to think its lost in the factory

Anyone else had this long a wait on an Emergency or any other watch or do you think this is a once off?

Cheers

3 months seems a bit extreme to me. While in your position I would certainly make an inquisitive phone call, most likely the delay is due to shipping and customs issues.

It took them 6 weeks to service my Jupiter Pilot, but then I live in Belgium.
Before I handed my watch over I was told that 6 weeks is the minimum time required for a full service.
This period may be extended if the service center has to wait for specific parts which I suspect to be the matter in your case.
Just give em a buzz and ask I would say.
Tell em you miss your watch terribly and you're getting disappointed, might get them started in the goodies dep.

A mate of mine has an emergency, & I'm sure he said it took 2-3 months as it went to switzerland & I believe separate organizations service the timepiece & the ELT.

That sounds reasonable, I don't think Breitling have in-house experts to service the transmitter.

And for the world we live in today with aeroplanes going everywhere, living in NZ or Belgium shouldn't be more than a few days difference.

Yeah a 2 or 3 month delay for an Emergency wouldn't surprise me, as (as Aleister already said) I don't think regional Breitling Service Centres are able to service the transmitter part. You have to remember that everywhere the watch is sent, they probably have a certain Service Level Agreement for turnaround time. That means they all have a good week or so sitting around scratching their heads before they send it on to the next stage.

The last watch I had serviced (my Le Mans) was done here in the UK at the Breitling Service Centre and took about 6 weeks. If you had to add on trips to other countries, etc, then I could well imagine a 2 or 3 month lead time.

Cheers guys.

I got the qoute 7 weeks ago, so someone had looked at the watch.

I rang again yesterday and they said they would find out and ring me back. Still no word. Hopefully soon as i do miss the weight on my wrist.

I will keep you posted on the outcome and when my baby comes back.

If i knew it was going to be this long i would have bought another watch before i sent it away.

Its my first watch :)
