I have seen lots of black faced watches looking pretty darn good with brown straps (about a 100 alone from Fred  ). I remembered I had a lighter brown strap for my blue SF. Liked the blue/brown combo a lot, but ditched the strap a while back when I got hot in favor of both steel and rubber. So today I got to thinking that strap was a pretty good match for my shoes so why not give it a go on the black faced Code Yellow. I like it so far but not 100% sure. What ya think???

Looks pretty good to me. The important thing of course is that it works for you.

Thanks guys, it has really grown on me this week. I was always told not to wear a brown belt with black shoes. Guess that does not apply to watch face/strap. Ever since that shoe thread a couple of weeks back I have been more aware of my strap shoe matching. The wife thinks I am nuts. Had to swap out the bracelet for brown strap earlier in the week on the CY now the Fish is back on leather too. Maybe time to sell all my bracelets...or buy more watches :cheer:

(As above) I was all in favour of the black on brown, but personally I'm always less taken with blue on black. I think it's one of the 'problems' with a blue dial - a bit less versatile, and only really pops with bracelet or matching blue rubber (or nato). (I have a blue Seamaster I should add.)

I'm also not keen on blue dials with black straps.... but I do like blue dials with brown straps. Give that a try on the blue 'fish - you may like it!

IMHO the advice was correct and it applies to watch strap/belt/shoes as well. Your watch is as much an "accessory" as your wife's seasonal purses or shoes. My wife always expressed amusement that I would go to the trouble to change a strap to go with whatever else I was wearing (particularly golfing attire) but she also agreed with the choice most of the time. (One exception: She strongly disliked the "Bund" pads I like to wear sometimes.) She claimed she must have been successful in making a "better person" out of me... :)
Best,
Ron

PS. Wingtips and a Breitling. My kind of guy! Even my golf shoes happen to be wingtips! 8)
