Hi

I am new to the forum and good watches. Even though I have always had a small selection of cheaper ones. However I now have 2 Breitlings too my name.

I would like to gather information about each of them out of interest and to go with the boxes and paperwork. Is their a site for this or can anyone here give me the information. I would like to know things like when they started to build the model and exact model and when they stopped manufacturing it (run date). Also the general specifications and potentially a review.

The 2 breitlings I own are:

Super Ocean (2008) - Orange faced and automatic. I believe with the professional 2 bracelet (highly polished, 3 columned at a slight angle). I am typing this at work so I don’t have the number on the watch or certificate sorry.

Colt Chronograph 2 (2013) Model number shown on the back of the watch: A73387 (again paperwork at home) – Automatic and Black faced. (the only ones I can see online are all super quartz?)

If needs be I will attch some better photos.

Any information is appreciated.

Many thanks
David

Welcome to BreitlingSource. This site has a page for each current Breitling - yours are:

http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... n_101.html

and

http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... t_253.html

Your Colt is not automatic, it is SuperQuartz.

edit TomP got their first.

Thanks all. Very helpful.
I feel abit of a fool and about the colt being sold to me as an automatic though. I never read the instructions and have worn it most days so not noticed.

WIgnoring what Breitling say would people have it serviced as often? I'll look up myself how much this will ser me back.

plus whilst im online the superocean I brought second hand and has never been serviced and I know it should be and I know what Breitling say and the acceptable time loss on an automatic is. I would say mine losses arond 6 seconds aday without checking properly. Acceptable or not?
Also I know this has probably been asked a thousand times Breitling service or independant?

Thanks again

Servicing in modern watches is dictated by the breakdown of the oils. Both quartz analogue and mechanical watches have oils in hem so need servicing. The oils will be good for 5 - 7 years, after that they will have fully broken down and the watch will need servicing. With your SO if it has never been serviced then it likely needs one.

I always go Breitling servicing. One big advantage is once they do service it, if anything happens afterwards they will cover it for another two years ( happened to me after bringing a pre-owned in and it stopped a year after I got it back...they fully covered the additional service!)
Just my opinion though. There are a lot if guys here who trust their personal Jewelers a lot more.

Please vote.

Which do people prefer?

Which should be the daily? At the moment its the Colt. Thats because its new and is covered under warranty and I think looks more of a daily, especially with the brushed strap. But am considering the Superocean.

COLT = M-W-F
SUPEROCEAN = T-Th-SAT

Toss a coin for SUN. Then the following week, flip the previous week's rotation.
