Dear all,

I am new to this forum and to Breitling watches. In particular, I am fond of vintage watches. Recently, I was offered to buy the attached vintage Navitimer (see pics; I apologize for the bad quality but I was in a hurry). Apparently the original owner was a pilot and it was quite heavily used. He dropped it resulting in a broken spring (?). Looking things up on the internet, I guess it is a 1965 AOPA Navitimer.
I was wondering what you all thing about the watch. What model is it? Is the anything particularly interesting about this model. Does the watch appear legit? What would be a fair price if repaired?

Thanks,

Boris

It's an 806 Navitimer - the classic Navitimer of the first 20 years or so of Navitimer's existence. Certainly worth repairing and we have a member chronodeco (Craig) who will be able to help you out. Not the greatest photos, but earlier than 1965.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Thank you very much for the immediate reply. I have two more questions:
1. Would it be a good idea to have a watchmaker who is not specialized on vintage Breitling to try to repair it?
2. I was offered the watch for $2500 - is that a fair price?

Thanks,

Boris

Always best to have a specialist look at this watch. You won't get an accurate price estimate without detailed pictures of the back and inside of the watch. The value is based upon many factors. The serial number is also inside the watch case back which will tell you the year of manufacture exactly.

Thanks a lot. I will try to get pictures (hopefully better ones than the ones above) of the back and inside next week and post them.

Thanks,

Boris

The watch is from 1963, it's all original and the price is not that bad, I'd say it's close to eBay price.
