Hi,

I thought i would ask this as my BCO has 2 years left on service warranty and when I service it I was wondering if breitling can change the face dial if you start to get bored of original. If not, how much do you expect to pay from a breitling specialist to have it done?..and would you trust them with it? how do you know they dont swap around all the internal mechanisms.?

This has been discussed a bit in other threads recently. I think the general conclusion is that Breitling won't change your dial as that would be "altering" the watch. You have to find a non-Breitling watchmaker to do it. It's also been discussed that if you do this, Breitling will reject any claims, warranty issues, malfunctions...

How much your local watchmaker will charge - difficult to answer.

I think someone posted this on TZ recently and said Breilting would change the dial, but only with a color change. From what I remember, a well known poster over there said you can swap out even dials, BUSA won't swap out a normal dial for anything special, like a mother of pearl. There was no mention of price.

I heard they used to do dial swaps, but that they had recently stopped that too. :? One for a quick call to BUSA I think.....unless anyone knows different.

There was some discussion on this on TZ regarding a dial change on an E, so I called BUSA myself to end the speculation. BUSA said they will do a dial change, and it will cost $600 or so depending on the watch. They also will not give you the old dial back, so you cannot have a watchmaker swap them back and forth.

I like the thought of a dial change, but not for $600 and not if I cannot hold on to both dials.

I phoned BUK and they said you can change your dial face to a different colour but you wont get the other one back. BUSA seems to be the same then. They said also the mother of pearl face would not be on the list. just the other other colours: blue, graphite, black..etc
