So I am very much afraid that I know the answer to this one even before I ask...no model number, serial number in the mid 300ks predates the 1944 chrono list, caseback seems wrong, obviously later crown...but since I'm looking everywhere for 784s or 785s, this is the only thing I came up with (and asking price is 2x what it should be as well)...but please tell me I'm wrong!!
Thanks for the advice....

David

you said it, David. Frankenfake, though that dial is not bad, might even be authentic.

My humble opinion:
movement and dial are totally original, (Venus 191 is only used by Breitling), maybe the engraving on the bridge is fake. The case is fake and not of Breitling, typical swiss fake of a Swiss watchmaker ..

Same opinion. I do not know this specific model enough to have an expert opinion , it is more a feeling about a franken ... there is a certain % of Breitling in what appears as a recasing , but far from 100% .
The bridge engraving is not period correct for a 300xxx series and a fantasy in position . The inside stamp of the caseback looks weeldone , you don' t feel in safety when you see that !

logo wrong for 1940s, as is the bridge engraving - even standing on it's head.
case/setting pins strange.
not this one, David

I was prepared to say that the case looked original, but those pushers do look weird - maybe replacements in the original case????

The dial looks like a redo to me - and relatively recent. Wouldn't spend that much on this one.

This is one of the first Datoras with calibre Valjoux VZC used from septembre 1943 to march 1945, not a Valjoux 23, therefore those pushers are correct.

how about some proof, please ?

naming a source for those claims would be nice too.

Anyone with just a little familiar with Breitling watches, knows this.

ask Rene or ask Paul, if you dont believe me. :lingsrock:
