Greetings folks,

I just purchased this online from a seller with several thousand +ve feedbacks on eBay. He has assured me that the watch is legit, but I'm a little concerned about the following combination of things I noticed on the dial:

1.) 'Automatic' is in red font
2.) Location of 'Automatic' (at 3 o'clock - shouldn't it be above the bottom sub-dial?)
3.) Hour indicators are bars. Shouldn't the 13358 have roman numerals?

Additionally, isn't the 13358 supposed to be the 'Galactic' model? This watch doesn't have the same bezel as the Galactic model.

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but doing a visual search on all images when googling 'Breitling 13358' yields only a very small handful of watches that had the same characteristics. Plus, a few of those images were from sites that sell replica Breitlings.

Here are some pics (I hope this works):

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a real Chrono Cockpit - Chrono Galactic is effectively the same watch with the different bezel so I guess that they used the same reference (which is odd). I know that the page on the Chrono Cockpit here has 13357 as the reference but both are correct.

Thanks for responding. So you're saying I shouldn't worry about the inconsistencies I mentioned above?

This looks like a transition piece to me. The dial looks to be the new Chrono Galactic design used with a Chrono Cockpit case/bezel.

Breitling regularly do this when updating models so nothing to be concerned about.

'Transition piece' I don't mind. It happens a lot in the guitar world. I just didn't think this sort of thing happened in the watch world.

Assuming it is a transition piece, logically it would make sense if it were a 2010-2011 model, no?

I know how to data a Chronomat with a bracelet, but how can I date a Breitling with a strap?

+1

BTW, I received the watch this past Saturday. It's beautiful! I checked the date, and it's an '08.
