Fred, another amazing find. I like your theory why this model came to being. While looking at the Book, I can only assume that with the newly developed chrono-matic movement that was going into a high-end models, Breitling had extra parts from the Navitimer, Co-Pilot and others (uncertain what they could be) and try to give new life back into the Top Time family. When you look at the Book you'll notice it looks out of place with the 70's case styles. All the same, glad they made it.

Dracha, great eye.

Now a new hurt begins.

Renè, it wasn't the endorsement I had dreamed of, but there truly is little (hell, no!) doubt for me it is correct and authentic; a very late production run by the original Breitling.

Notice the caseback, next to a ref. 815 "Long playing" from 1973, finishing and marking it is all correct, even including the pre-stamped leading million "1" in a different stamping font. And, I must add, I know that case quite well to validate it.

Renè, I did find a reference and we emailed about it more than a year ago, but neither remember nor find the mail; old age .....

found it , in 'The Book' , page 204

thanks, Renè, knew we had seen it, though a "The Book" endorsement is just slightly better than one by our dear Sage.

and my "Book" is gone, as you know.

I still have a package for you here (I am very ashamed to admit, just found it again after opening boxes I packed when we moved into our new home  ) I will add page 204 and the other pages and send it out soon

no problem, Renè, you had many more relevant things to deal with, thankfully some good to, as you apparently moved into yr new home and are still married ?

no need for page 204, grabbed pics of the relevant pages (just have to remember where I stored them ), live happily w/o the blah.
