Well, here it is. The SuperOcean and a beauty at that. $7500 for any interested parties. Sorry it is not 18k for those with particular taste but Fred is on a watch diet anyway. Hope you enjoy the view.

extraordinary. dial is restored/relumed I think, but excellent work.
afraid one of these will have to be enough for me, but a very beautiful piece.

This watch came out in a time when sport diving was in its beginning and dive watches were just coming into there own. Breitling made a splash with the SuperOcean and it is still a popular seller for the company today. These early SuperOcean are extremely rare to find in even good shape and this example even with work done to the dial and relumed hands is a fine example of a early model. They are prized and do not come on the market often.

Yes, this dealer being in South Fl. has a very wealthy, older demographic than most have to obtain these fine watches from. My best find was from an unadvertised estate sale at an oceanfront estate in Palm Beach about 10 years ago were I got my TransOcean for next to nothing. Found it in a box of costume jewelry. The kids of the owners were more interested in getting the home empty to cash in on the property sale, they could care less about the parents personal possessions. Mint TransOcean for $50. Told the owner it was worth more and he rolled up his.sleeve and shows me a probably 100k Rolex and said "No, this is worth more. My father had no taste."
Matthew Bain always has great watches. High prices but not set in stone.
