Hello all, I am new this website. My reason for joining is that I own an 18 month old superocean heritage, and for weeks on end it will run fast. When I say fast, it is gaining 6 or 7 minutes a day on my cell phone clock. Then it goes back to running as usual, not gaining any significant time. What is going on? Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Manifestly not right, and it's under warranty, so I'd be getting it straight back to Breitling.

Usual answer when it runs that fast is that it is magnetised, but that won't fix itself. However, the reason that magnetism causes problems is that it causes the spirals of the hairspring to 'stick' together, and it may be that there is something else that is periodically causing that - a bad spiral, dirt in the movement, etc. Definitely needs Breitling warranty attention.

My superocean heritage did that when I stored it face down, then went back to normal when I stored it at any other angle. Never found out what did it.

That could be a fairly serious problem - could be a broken jewel.

Wow, I never realized. Got it brand new from an authorized retailer as well.

If it's running severely fast in just one position then it needs to be checked for sure. Where you got it isn't necessarily relevant, it could be caused by a hard knock.
